Veggie U - earth to table

Back to Questions

What does the Veggie U curriculum cover?

The curriculum includes studies of soil, composting, planting, nutrition and plant anatomy, with hands-on activities such as tasting a wide range of unusual vegetables, construction of a worm farm, and seed planting complete with flats, soil and grow lights - all which help make learning fun!

The Veggie U curriculum covers all of the state and national 4th grade science standards set forth by the "No Child Left Behind" initiative. The benchmarks for these standards are included at the beginning of each lesson so that the teacher can easily integrate them into the existing classroom science curriculum.

In addition to a hands-on, scientific approach to learning about plants and their components, the Veggie U® curriculum incorporates mathematics, language arts and fine arts, providing an interactive and enjoyable way for students to study these core concepts.
