Veggie U - Help Us Grow

Veggie U is a non profit organization dedicated to improving children’s eating habits, one classroom at a time. The chefs, educators, and farmers who inspired the creation of Veggie U recognized that most children today have little to no association between what is on their plates and how that impacts their health. Our Earth to Table science curriculum helps make that vital connection by introducing children to sustainable agriculture practices with a seed-to-harvest-to-preparation-to-eating experience in an engaging, hands-on way that is easy for teachers to implement and interesting for students to learn.

Veggie U is not possible without community support from people like you.
There are a variety of ways you can participate in our important program.

Your support will enable us to take the message of nutrition and its benefits to children into classrooms across the country. The Veggie U kit costs $450 per classroom. Each kit arrives complete with a five-week curriculum including segments on soils, sustainability, and nutrition. Also included is an introductory Farmer Jones DVD, seeds, soil, grow lights, root view boxes, worm farm materials and a box of unique vegetables from The Chef’s Garden™ farm. [To see photos of the complete Earth to Table classroom kit, click here]. Children love our program because it’s a hands-on, engaging experience. They will remember what they learn for years to come. The result? Positive lifelong habits! With your help, we can reverse childhood disease, such as obesity and diabetes and make a profound difference for the next generation.

Veggie U recognizes that educating children about sustainable agriculture and making wise food choices must involve the whole community for it to have positive life-long effects. That's why we encourage schools to enlist the support of parent organizations (i.e. PTAs, PTOs, etc.), parents, grandparents, local businesses, garden clubs and more to get involved in supporting this vital program.
