Chef Support
Veggie U was inspired by a group of chefs who realized there was both a need to improve children's eating habits and a unique opportunity to pay it forward to the next generation. As a chef, you can make a profound difference in children's lives by hosting a fundraiser at your restaurant, adopting a classroom or school in your neighborhood, or donating your talents to our cause [click here].
Nationally known chefs who have donated time and talent to Veggie U:
Former White House Chef, Walter Scheib
Food Network Personality, Cook and Author, Paula Deen
From Bravo’s Top Chef, Lee Anne Wong
From Bravo's Tops Chef, and Dave Martin
Food & Wine’s Top Chef 2010, Jonathon Sawyer
There are numerous ways for chefs to get involved with Veggie U:
- One restaurateur, Scott Kuhn of Washington Place Bistro & Inn, includes Veggie U cards in every guest’s bill, inviting them to add a donation to the total amount of their bill.
- A group of Cleveland chefs sponsored a 'Dinner in the Dark' event featuring a surprise menu, with proceeds from the evening going to benefit Veggie U.
